The Lobaro wireless M-Bus Gateway V3 records consumption values from up to 650 commercially available water meters, heat meters, heat cost allocators or similar with 868 MHz wireless M-Bus radio interface or Sensus RF Bubble Up and forwards them encrypted via NB-IoT or LTE-M mobile radio or LoRaWAN networks to the Internet for further evaluation. On request, the capacity for wM-Bus telegrams can be increased to up to 2,500 using an additional built-in memory.

Forwarded counter values are, optionally additionally via DTLS encrypted, into a shared or private instance of the Lobaro IoT platform and can be viewed there or downloaded as a CSV file. Alternatively, standardised APIs such as MQTT, HTTP push, SFTP or a REST interface are available to connect downstream systems or platforms easily and securely.

Thanks to the innovative NB-IoT mobile radio, optimised for sensor data, remote reading even works in places such as Kellern where smartphones have poor or no reception. The data volume of a single 10 Euro SIM card is easily sufficient for the service life of the internal and easily replaceable lithium thionyl chloride battery in D-cell format in many applications.

The firmware allows data transmission to be switched to an alternative upload via LoRaWAN instead of NB-IoT mobile radio.

A typical application scenario is the monthly Automated remote reading of properties with 500-800 meters*, e.g. heat cost allocators, smoke detectors or heat meters, in the wireless M-Bus reception area of the gateway. Battery lifetimes of 10 years+ are possible. The Lobaro wireless M-Bus gateway is a cost-effective module for legally compliant implementation of the recently amended Heating Cost Ordinance and the EED Directive. For applications with even more frequent readings, e.g. several times a day, we recommend the Solar wireless M-Bus gateway or our Externally powered wireless M-Bus gateway for the top-hat rail.

* The product variant "Wireless M-Bus Gateway V3-B" [8000217] with IP 66/IP 68 (1.2 m - 2 h) DIN EN 60529 housing is suitable for operation in the unprotected Outdoor use. For operation in reading shafts or other challenging environmental conditions, we also recommend encapsulating the devices and painting the PCB antenna.

Configuration

For easy configuration with the Lobaro Maintenance Tool (Windows, Linux, Mac), the Lobaro USB Configuration adapter required! Configuration "over the air" via NB-IoT is also possible. For example, whitelists for meters or the readout intervals can be set.
