Description
The Lobaro Solar Wireless M-Bus Gateway collects consumption data from up to 500 commercially available water meters, heat meters, heat cost allocators or similar devices with OMS radio interface. For this purpose, it uses an 868 MHz wireless M-Bus radio interface or Sensus RF Bubble Up and forwards the data regularly and encrypted via NB-IoT, LTE mobile radio or LoRaWAN to the Internet for regular evaluation.
The gateway has an integrated solar cell that permanently supplies the device with energy, provided there is daylight. Thanks to the long-life supercapacitor, readout intervals can be many times longer than with battery-powered devices, provided the device is installed in a suitable location. In addition, there are no costs for battery replacement. In many applications, consumption data can even be transmitted hourly and in other cases at least daily. This is not possible with conventional battery-powered gateways, as these often offer only limited transmission options and cannot guarantee regular data transmission due to the limited battery life.
The wireless M-Bus telegrams are transmitted encrypted to the Lobaro IoT platform. There they can be viewed and downloaded as a CSV file. The gateway uses modern NB-IoT or LTE mobile technologies that are specially optimized for sensor data and enable remote reading in places where smartphones have no reception. The standard fixed SIM card has a data volume of 3 MB per month over a 10-year period and the firmware allows switching to alternative upload via LoRaWAN.

Configuration
The device is configured "over the air" using the Lobaro Platform. When using LoRaWAN, a simple downlink is sufficient to adjust the system parameters. For example, whitelists for meters or the readout intervals can be set.
Lobaro IoT Platform
To evaluate the product, they can use the free trial instance* of the Lobaro IoT Platform available on our server. For production systems, contact us about installing the platform on your server or AWS or directly connecting the hardware. For LoRaWAN no platform is mandatory.
*Without availability guarantees and backups, trial period: 12 months from purchase.
